The Mission

Home. Hope. Healing.
And a future
we shape together.

Women deserve spaces where they are understood, supported, and free to grow.

Founded in 2022, the Sanctuary Collective creates culturally responsive, accessible spaces for women and girls, particularly women and girls of color, to pursue their goals, nurture their well-being, and develop as leaders.

Read Our Full Mission

Our work addresses the inequities, discrimination, and systemic barriers that disproportionately affect women and girls of color.

Through culturally grounded direct services, community-centered programming, mentorship, wellness, and leadership development, we build the skills, self-awareness, social capital, relationships, and resources that help participants exercise greater agency in their lives and communities.

At its heart, the Collective creates home, hope, healing, and pathways to collective power. Together, we support women and girls in navigating today’s world and shaping the more equitable communities they deserve.

Elisha Suttles

Director & Board Member

Mrs. Suttles is a trauma-informed therapist, visionary author, and the founder of Intentional Healing of Omaha. Rooted in both science and spirit, her work blends the rigor of neuroscience with the grace of empathy and culturally responsive care. With a heart attuned to the unspoken wounds of childhood trauma and emotional unrest, Elisha walks alongside women and youth—guiding them toward wholeness, resilience, and lasting transformation.

She is the author of Metamorphosis: Embracing the Journey to Intentional Healing to Lasting Transformation, a reflective workbook crafted as both a compass and a companion for those navigating the sacred terrain of trauma recovery, emotional restoration, and personal evolution.

Her impact has been recognized through the Manifested Greatness Award, which she has received consecutively for the last three years—an accolade reserved for women living with bold purpose, radical truth, and spiritual alignment. Further, she has served as a devoted Member, Board Member, and now, Director of The Sanctuary Collective—a sacred sisterhood space where healing, authenticity, and connection are not only honored but embodied—Elisha has long contributed her voice, vision, and presence to its living mission: to make sisterhood sacred again.

In every space she enters, Elisha offers more than her expertise; she offers herself fully—an ever-living testament to the transformative power of intentional healing in motion and invites others to live authentically, boldly, and faithfully alongside her.

MaKayla Fountain

Board Chair

MaKayla Fountain believes deeply in the power of sisterhood, authentic connection, and women creating space for one another to heal, grow, and thrive.

Her connection to The Sanctuary Collective is deeply personal. Before becoming a Board Member, MaKayla experienced the Collective as a woman seeking a space where she could simply be herself. There, she found what she believes every woman deserves—a safe place to exhale, be heard, receive encouragement, and be reminded that she does not have to navigate life alone.

That experience is central to why MaKayla is honored to now serve on the Board. She understands firsthand the impact of intentional sisterhood and is passionate about helping create that same sense of belonging for other women.

Professionally, MaKayla brings experience in leadership, client relations, advocacy, and community engagement, along with strengths in relationship-building, communication, and bringing people together. Above all, she brings a genuine heart for women and a desire to see them know their worth, embrace their stories, and recognize that there is room for them at the table.

For MaKayla, The Sanctuary Collective is more than an organization—it is a reminder that sometimes the greatest gift we can offer another woman is a safe place to land.
